we had a sold out Ceremony show at the fighting cocks last night, but it was also the industry hobnobbing press release night for Record Store Day 2012 too. RSD is big deal for us, a months takings in a day, and last night was a quite unique chance to meet up with people we only ever talk to on the phone / email. So, we had to go to that. A decision which caused internal wranglings for me but that punk show obviously ran without me just fine, its just i wanted to be there.
Anyway, despite the rather surreal experience of seeing P.i.L. and the even more weird experience of seeing many of our distro reps raving to Oribital in the room not much bigger than Bacchus, it was a good meet.
There’s still some opinion about Record Store Day that i vehemently disagree with, but 95% of what RSD is and does, is such a positive thing and is a great celebration of record stores. its an exciting day.
The list, that you can probably see all over the internet, and you will see on our site shortly, is plentiful. There’s some great ones, and many more others. Highlights for us so far include Frank Turner, Two Door, Refused.
But here’s the deal. I’ve been having so many real early starts recently cos there’s so much going on, havent even had time to blog about BANQUET’S BIG DAY OUT, so i dont wanna reply to variations of the same email sent a billion times, so…
